Program results will also be presented to <br />the Weld County Town Manager's group at one of their quarterly meetings. <br />Gilcrest will enter the program in the Colorado Municipal League's (CML) <br />"Innovative Municipal Projects" competition. An article describing the program <br />and the results will also be submitted to the Rural Water Association, and the <br />CML monthly journals for publicizing the program to other towns and special <br />districts. This wider publicity will enable other small towns to see what can <br />be done to save water and how it translates into real cost savings. <br /> <br />VI. PROGRAM BENEFITS <br /> <br />Water conservation resulting from the proposed program are estimated as <br />follows. <br /> <br />PROJECT 1. OPEN SPACE IRRIGATION <br /> <br />Water savings from using well water at the park are estimated as: <br /> <br />- 10 - 12% less water used by irrigating with well water than with surface <br />water; <br /> <br />- 5 - 10% reduction per year of irrigation water due to rain sensor for an <br />estimated 1.82 million gallons saved per watering season. <br />
