Mechanisms and systems to be utilized in gathering information: <br /> Fire weather/danger station networks <br /> AFFIRMS (fire danger computer system) <br /> Local fire departments, county sheriffs <br /> State and federal wildfire agencies <br /> Colorado Wildfire Coordination Group <br /> Fire Behavior Officers <br /> State Climatologist <br /> Water Availability Task Force. <br /> G. Use of Data. Input data will be used to help assess the scope of <br /> current and expected wildfire threat. Analysis of the threats leads <br /> to recommendations for supplementing or changing the intensity and <br /> mix of inter-agency wildfire protection program activites. Such <br /> protection program activities should be considered for each of the <br /> following categories: <br /> Prevention of fires <br /> Detection of new fires <br /> Readiness (pre-suppression) <br /> Reaction (Suppression) <br /> Appendices A-D contain checklists for possible actions for each of <br /> above categories. Additional actions may be devised by the task <br /> force to fit the current opportunities and needs. <br /> H. Outputs. Task force efforts must result in several essential <br /> products: <br /> 1 . Review of existing wildfire protection capabilities in relation- <br /> ship to current and/or potential threats. <br /> 2. Inventory of additional or special resource availability, costs, <br /> and procedures for activation. <br /> 3 . Identification of key contact points with support service <br /> agencies. <br /> 4. Identification and description of key wildfire policy and <br /> authority issues. <br /> 5. Identification and listing of barriers to effective wildfire <br /> protection. <br /> 6. Projection of impacts based upon wildfire threat severity. <br /> 7. Recommendations and costs on how major impact problems can be <br /> solved. <br /> 8. Evaluate effectiveness of wildfire protection activities. <br /> 9. Devise a wildfire danger warning system for coordinated <br /> public warnings/messages. <br /> 10. Procedures for coordinated system of fire restrictions and <br />
