Other agencies should be considered for their special assistance <br /> and may be invited on an "as needed" basis. Several such agencies <br /> may be: <br /> Division of Local Affairs/Special Districts (fire) <br /> Division of State Parks <br /> Colorado Counties, Inc. <br /> Colorado Sheriffs Association <br /> Colorado Fire Chief' s Association <br /> D. Expenses. Task force members shall serve without special compen- <br /> sation. Task force expenses and materials will be borne among <br /> the member agencies as much as possible. Budgets for any special <br /> high-cost items, work, or data will be prepared and reported to <br /> the Review and Reporting Task Force. <br /> The task force should consider tapping the talents of others on <br /> agency staffs and/or the formation of special working teams to <br /> accomplish the work of the task force in a timely manner. <br /> E. Duties and Activities. As a minimum, the task force must: <br /> o Review its guidelines and procedures; update or revise <br /> as necessary. <br /> o Collect and evaluate impact data. <br /> o Assess current and potential severity of impacts. <br /> o Make projections for several scenarios; analyze <br /> wildfire threat for each. <br /> o Analyze barriers and needs to meet projected threats. <br /> o Identify sources of assistance. <br /> o Inventory possible fire protection resources. <br /> o Recommend response levels and activities. <br /> o Estimate costs of needed augmentation activities. <br /> o Write reports; deliver in a timely fashion. <br /> o Maintain supporting data and records of activities. <br /> F. Data Sources. Emphasis will be on utilization of existing resources, <br /> mechanisms , and reports to gather data. Basic data will come from <br /> the following: <br /> Item Source Frequency <br /> 1 . National Fire Danger System (NFDRS) AFFIRMS - <br /> a. past and current fire danger indices FIREDAT Daily <br /> b. 1000-hour timelag fuel moistures AFFIRMS Weeekly <br /> 2. Palmer Drought Index NWS 2 Weeks <br /> 3. Monthly/year precipitation data Climatologist Monthly <br /> 4. Water Availability Task Force Reports Task Force as updated <br /> 5. Fire spread and intensity Fire Behavior as cccurs <br /> Officer <br /> 6. Individual fire/incident reports Agencies as occurs <br /> All assessments and projections must also consider information <br /> formulated by the Water Availability Task Force. <br />
