Some suggestions for additional <br />measures to promote efficient water use include rebate programs for efficient sprinkler <br />heads, additional promotion of water - efficient landscaping, and assistance for HOA's <br />when initiating contracts with landscape maintenance companies. The overall response to <br />water conservation efforts was positive and 68 percent of surveyed residents agree that <br />conserving water will help preserve the quality of life. Also included in Appendix E are <br />other attributes from the public input process including a copy of the public notice <br />advertised on June 4th and 7th, 2008, a copy of the boards presented at the June 19th, 2008 <br />Open House, and the City Council Communication from August 19th, 2008. <br />Feedback from the community as portions of the plan are implemented will be a <br />continuous process. The City will plan to use educational and public outreach programs, <br />such as Rhythm on the River and the annual St. Vrain Water Festival, to receive feedback. <br />During plan updates the public input process will be revisited. <br />10.2 Implementation <br />The City will need to initiate implementation of a number of measures and programs for <br />the predicted water savings to occur. The estimated implementation schedule for the <br />selected measures and programs is summarized in Table 18. Some of the relevant <br />activities for the City include the following: <br />• Maintain ongoing residential appliance and fixture rebates, <br />• Maintain CRC outdoor irrigation audits, <br />• Maintain ongoing public education and outreach efforts related to supporting the <br />water fair,, operating and maintaining the Xeriscape demotion garden, and providing <br />customers with the "Garden -in -a- Box" , <br />• Prepare and implement changes in water rates as determined from rate studies, <br />• Develop the following: <br />57 <br />
