Conservation & Drought Planning section (OWCDP) received a Water <br />Conservation Planning grant application from the City of Longmont, a covered entity located in <br />Weld County, Colorado. The City is a municipality that has a legal obligation to supply, <br />distribute, and provide water at retail rates to domestic, industrial, and public facility customers. <br />The City has a current retail water use of 2,000 acre-feet/year, which means it meets the <br />definition of a covered entity, under statute 937-60-126. The application is attached for your <br />reVIew. <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting $25,000 to aid in developing a Water Conservation Plan that meets <br />the requirements outlined in SB 07-008. The applicant has demonstrated their financial ability to <br />provide 30% of the project budget with matching funds in the form of$4,815 in-kind and $5,370 <br />cash contributions. Staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined <br />that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals. Attached <br />is the internal checklist used to evaluate the application as well as the application evaluation <br />criteria. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The OWeDP staff recommends that Dan McAuliffe, Acting Director of the C\VCB authorize <br />$25,000 to the City of Longmont for development ofa Water Conservation Plan. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
