The progress report is organized according to the requirements for
the 50% completion report and provides an update on progress since the project started in
June 2007.

Project Tasks Completed

To date foUl' of the nine planning steps for water conservation have been completed, and
progress has begun on two other planning steps. The four plamring steps that have been
completed include profiling the water system (Step 1), characterizing water use (Step 2),
profiling future water supply options (Step 3), and identifying water conservation goals
(Step 4). Progress has been made on identifying conservation. measures and programs (Step
5) and evaluating conservation measures and programs (Step 6).

Project Successes

Since early on in the project the team (Great Western Institute and CH2M HILL) has been
able to receive input from the Water Board on a regular basis by attending Water Board
meetings. Receiving this input at an early stage has allowed incorporation of feedback as the
plan is being developed and will hopefully reduce review comments on the draft plan.. The
Water Board is very interested in water conservation and has participated in many
discussions with the team. In addition to early involvement from the Water Board, the team
has also conducted meetings with various City departments for input including P1anning~
Finance, and Parks.

Project Obstacles

There have not been any significant obstacles to date. As expected there have been some
challenges with gathering data from multiple department,;, but the updated conservation
plan will hopefully identify improvements in this area.
