Details on each rebate are
provided in Table 2-11. Customers receive a rebate from the District for the purchase
and use of any of the items. For the first 3 years of the program, 196 rebates were
provided to customers totaling $21,426. Estimated water savings for the rebates where
savings could be quantified from 2003 to 2005 are presented in Table 2-12.

Table 2-11 Retrofit Incentives

Number of
Rebates
Since Onset Total Rebate
Item Benefit/Savi ngs Rebate of Program Expenditures
Rain Sensors Overrides irrigation $100 28 $2,800
system by detecting (Limit one per
rainfall. household)
I rrigation Clock Sets time limits to help $75 38 $2,950
conserve water (Limit one per
household)
Low Flow Toilets 1 Uses 1.6 gallons per $100 18 $1,900
flush; Old toilets use three (Limit three per
to five gallons per flush household)
Low Usage Washing Uses 25 gallons per load; $125 80 $10,500
Machines2 Horizontal machines use (Limit two per
40 gallons per load household.
