""- r ' - ^ <br /> <br />D~ ~fk 0 ~ AJ~~(S-+VQ~'()V- <br /> <br />\A.!C{ toe\' LWIL ~"" V<.L'~l>-' M ~ <br /> <br />PROGRAM: <br /> <br />It is the intent of Capitol Complex Facilities Division to <br />establish a program for compliance with HB 91-1154 (Water <br />Conservation Act of 1991) and to further instigate water <br />conservation measures at the Department level. Recognizing the <br />potential for long term cost savings, improved water quality, and <br />the need to protect the environment and the state's natural <br />resources, we have set goals and established criteria which we feel <br />will serve to support the State I s desire to maximize water use <br />efficiency. The following objectives define ongoing procedures <br />for our Division: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Heighten awareness of the critical need to conserve this <br />resource as well as the role we as individuals can play <br />in the process. This will be accomplished by our TQM <br />teams, department and division ne\-Isletters~_ rly_~:r1L- gnd <br />other publicity yet to be determined. <br /> <br />2 . <br /> <br />Establish operational procedures to: <br /> <br />a. Promote continuation of our current individual <br />building water audits; <br /> <br />b. Detect and correct system water leakage; <br /> <br />c. Monitor and upgrade water use efficiency of <br />equipment, systems and processes; <br /> <br />d. Meter; control and regulate our irrigation systems <br />to opcimize efficiency; <br /> <br />e. Utilize landscaping plant materials which support <br />the need to conserve water; and <br /> <br />f. <br /> <br />Repair and replace <br />consistent with the <br />under HB 91-1154. <br /> <br />water system <br />specifications <br /> <br />components <br />established <br /> <br />3. Initiate facility planning and renovation guidelines and <br />strategies which: <br /> <br />a. Recognize and utilize current, proven technological <br />advancements relative to water conservation; <br /> <br />b. Coordinates current specification requirements with <br />our consulting architects and engineers; <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />Identifies <br />formulaces <br /> <br />excessive <br />controlled <br /> <br />\-later consumption <br />maintenance projects <br /> <br />and <br />to <br />
