.

.

.

Below are the conclusions and recommendations of the BECC:

The use of Professor Wescoat's class was a great help in obtaining as much information as
possible from the City of Westminster residents in a cost-efficient manner. They were able to
spend time designing a complete questionnaire incorporating questions that the City of
Westminster wanted answers for. The students were able to survey diverse groups of residents
rather than just the 50 top water users that received the water conservation brochure. The
compilation of information will prove to be very useful for future water conservation decisions
made by the City of Westminster.

The City should consider including the brochure, "The Hose Knows", in each Westminster
resident's water bill. The information could prove to be useful in obtaining the City's water
conservation goals. In the future, the brochure should expound upon indoor water conservation
measures also. Indoor water conservation tips are easy to include in every~day living and it's
something that people can incorporate instantly.

As far as education of the Westminster utility billing clerks, the City may want to consider hiring
a water resource engineer who can teach the clerks a higher level of water conservation. A water
resource engineer would be able to address more difficult and abstract questions relating to water
use.

10
