Project Description: Develop training/education materials July I, 1997
for front-line customer service personnel to assist customers
in detennining if water usage is too high and to assist in
analyzing and reducing water usage.
Goals/Objectives: To educate/train front-line CS personnel July 10, 1997
in conservation prnct:ices in order to effectively assist the
public in reducing water use.
Project Planning:
=:> Solicit proposals from selected consultants to provide September I, 1997
necessary services.
=:> Hire and wOlk with consultant to prepare course, training Septem1>er 15, 1997
material and material which would be provided to
customers.
~ Develop survey for high water users October 31, 1997
~ Develop a tIacking system in order to tIack those December I, 1997
customers inquiring about high water use. Use City's
GIS, which is linked to utility billing data base, to
detennine if the program has an effect on water use
throughout the City.
Project Implementation:
=:> Provide customers with written infonnation so they can February 1, 1998
determine correct amount of irrigation water to apply
~ Schedule training session May 31, 1998
~ Respond to "high usage" inquiries/complaints and June 1, 1998
provide direction for customers to reduce usage if it is
detennined the usage is really too high.
=:> Send predesigned survey to randomly selected October 31,1998
