.

CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS
The Colorado State Services Building is a recently renovated facility that is a showcase of
water efficiency, The facility has 1.6 gpf flush-valve type toilets, 1.5 gpm urinals, 2,0 gpm
lavatory sinks, air cooled ice makers, and efficient irrigation in areas affected by the
renovation, The only water conservation opportunity identified in this study is a pressure
relief valve located on the backflow preventer in the penthouse mechanical room, This
valve was found to be releasing spurts of water approximately every minute, Maintenance
personnel are aware of this problem, and it is being addressed through the warranty with
the contractor. Otherwise, this facility is a excellent example of water use efficiency,
The State of Colorado should be commended for their water conservation efforts with this
facility,

7,
