<br />(a) ESTABLlSHMENT.-There lS hereby established a <br />~ational Weather ~Iodification ManagemerirPi'6fjTa.rh with <br />th-e purpose of understanding! developi!lg,. improving;. and <br />managing weather modification technologies ,:in:-:accrfrflance <br />16 with the provisions, purposes, policies, and findings of this <br />l7Act. <br /> <br /> 1 <br /> 2 <br /> 3 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 <br /> 8 <br /> 9 <br /> 10 <br /> 11 <br /> 12 <br /> 13 <br />.\. . 14 <br /> 15 <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br /> <br />when such change results m the alteration of the <br /> <br />weather; <br /> <br />(7) "weather modification activity" means the use <br />of any device, chemical, or other substance for the pur- <br />pose of intentionally producing weather modification; <br />and <br /> <br />(8) "weather modification project" means a set of <br /> <br />one or more weather modification activities designed to <br /> <br /> <br />accomplish a common objective. <br /> <br />SEe. 6. NATIONAL WEATHER MODIFICATION MA'lYAGE4fENT PRO- <br /> <br />GRAM. <br /> <br />18 (b) PROGRAM ELEMENTS.-The Program shall tn- <br /> <br /> <br />19 elude, but not be limited to, the following elements- <br /> <br /> <br />20 (1) basic and applied research. to understa,nd the <br /> <br /> <br />21 atmospheric processes that could provide the scientific <br /> <br /> <br />22 foundation for weather modification; <br /> <br /> <br />23 (2) experimental weather modification'act'ivities to' <br /> <br />24 test the findings from such research and to deL'elop <br /> <br />25' Ff"/.{(lent opemtionalmetlrods with predictable resnlts; , <br />
