Sect10n 36-20-107 empowers the Execut1ve D1rector of the Department <br />of Natural Resources (1n consultat10n with a ten-member advisory commlttee) <br />to 1ssue rules and regulat10ns requlred to lmplement the Weather <br />Modiflcation Act. The rules include the lnformation needed by persons <br />applying for licenses and permlts. Appl1cants may also wlsh tc read the <br />Act. <br /> <br />A. General Information <br /> <br />A license is granted for expertise ln a specified form of weather <br />modlficat1on technology (e.g., snow augmentation, hail suppression). A <br />permit is reqUired for each weather modiflcation project and projects <br />must be dlrected by persons who hold a current Colorado weather <br />modification license. <br /> <br />B. Applicat10n for Llcense <br /> <br />(1) Use Applicatlon for License (Form WM1) to apply for a license. <br />Form WMl should be submltted at least 45 days before the beglnnlng <br />date of proposed project use. <br /> <br />(2) L1censees must meet at least one of the following requirements: <br /> <br />a. E1ght years professlonal experlence in weather modlflcation <br />field research or operatlons with at least three years as <br />project dlrector. <br /> <br />b. Baccalaureate degree in englneering, mathematlcs or phYSical <br />sciences and three years experlence in weather modification <br />field research or operatlons. <br /> <br />c. Baccalaureate degree ln meteorology or baccalaureate degree <br />in engineerlng (which includes, or is in additlon to, <br />twenty-flve semester hours of meteorology) and two years <br />experlence in weather modlficatlon operations or research. <br /> <br />d. Certification as manager by the Weather Modification <br />Assoclation. <br /> <br />(3) A license fee of SlOO is required of all appllcants includlng <br />persons employed by commercial flrms, government and non-profit <br />agcncles. <br /> <br />~. <br /> <br />THE CODE OF COLORADO REGULATIONS <br /> <br />2 CCR 401.1 <br />
