<br />Demands by Customer Class <br /> <br />The following table shows the amount of water delivered to each customer class in 1996. <br />This particular year was chosen for analysis since it was considered an average year both <br />in precipitation and water use. Metered Water Use, 1996. <br /> <br />Single-Family Demands <br /> <br />Single-family residences use more water than any other customer class in Thornton's <br />service area. In 1996, single-family accounts received 44% ofthe tota! metered <br />deliveries by Thornton. The average annual water consumption for a single-family <br />residence in 2000 was 128,000 gallons. <br /> <br />Multi-Family and Mobile Home Demands <br /> <br />The City's water billing database combines water deliveries to multi-family residences <br />and mobile homes. Water use patterns for these two types of water customers appear to <br />be similar. This group of customers is second to single-family residences in terms of <br />overall annual water use. During the analysis period, 20% of the total water deliveries <br />- - -- --. - - --WentT6fi1u1fi:famil:yanamobIlenome accounts. - --- n_ - - ---- - -- - -- - - --- - - - <br /> <br />Single- and multi-family residential customers account for more than 60% of water <br />delivered to the Thornton service area. <br /> <br />Commercial Industrial & Institutional Demands <br /> <br />The commercial, industrial, and institutional (en) category comprises a diverse group of <br />customers. Office buildings, hotels, schools, retail stores, restaurants, car washes and <br />manufacturing facilities all fall within its limits. Deliveries to the 450 en accounts in the <br />system made up 10% of the tota! water demand. <br /> <br />6 <br />
