Colorado, is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-92 as
follows:

Section 125. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-92.1 as
follows:

9 40-92.1 "on-availability of Public Service

Where a public sanitary sewer is not available, the bui1din9
sewer may be connected to a private wastewater disposal system
comp1yin9 with the provisions of this article.

Section 126. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-92.2 as
follows:

9 40-92.2 Permit for Private Service

Before commencement of construction of a private wastewater
disposal system the owner shall first obtain a written permit from
Tri-County Health Department followed by the obtainin9 of a written
permit signed by Thornton Utilities Olrector. rhe application for
said permit shall be made on a form furnished by the Engineer which
the applicant shall supplement by system desi9n plans, specifications,
and other information as are deemed necessary by the Engineer.

Section 127. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-92.3 as
follows:

9 40-92.3 Inspection

Engineer shall be allowed to inspect the work at any stage of
construction, and, In any event, the applicant for the permit shall
notify the En9lneer when the work's ready for final tnspectlon, and
before any underground portions are covered.

Section 128. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-92.4 as
follows:

9 40-92.4 Private System Oeslgn Criteria

The type, capactties, location. and layout of a private
wastewater disposal system shall comply with all recommendations of
the Department of Public Health of the State of Colorado. No permit
shall be 'ssued for any prtvate wastewater disposal system employing
subsurface soil absorption facilities in which the area of the lot Is
, '-ress tnan wO,UlJU square teet. NO private wastewaterli1sposal system
shall be permitted to discharge to any natural outlet.

Section 129. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-92.5 as
follows:

9 40-92.5 Private System Operations

The owner(s) shall operate and maintain the private wastewater
disposal facilities in a sanitary manner at all times. at no expense
to the Utility.

Section 130. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-92.6 as
follows:

940-92.6 Limitations

No statement contained in this article shall be construed to
interfere with any additional requirements that may be imposed by the
health officer.
