<br />Each premise or property shall be serviced by a separate service
<br />connection to the main with a separate meter involving only one (1)
<br />account, unless the Utilities Director or his designate represen-
<br />tative, approves an alternate method of prov1ding water service to a
<br />premise or property. Hereafter, extension or service to another pre-
<br />mises from an existing service connection is prohibited and shall sub-
<br />ject service to shutoff without the city being liable for any damages.
<br />
<br />Section 120. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
<br />Colorado, Is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-88 .s
<br />follows:

<br />9 40-88 Connections to fire hydrants

<br />No connection shall be made to any fire hydrant except by an
<br />employee of the city for municipal purposes or by authorized fire
<br />districts for emergency uses. The Utilities Olrector, or his
<br />designate may authorize deviations from this rule.

<br />Section 121. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
<br />Colorado, Is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-89 as
<br />follO'ols:

<br />9 40-89 Trespass upon, taaperlng with, or polluting of water munici-
<br />pal water system (Added 7-9-79 by Ord. No. 892)
<br />
<br />It shall be unlawful for any person, directly or Indirectly, to
<br />defile, pollute, contaminate, trespass upon, Injure, tamper, meddle or
<br />interfere In any way with; or to cause, authorize or permit any
<br />trespass upon, Injury, tampering or meddling with; or to defile,
<br />pollute or contaminate or interfere In any way with, any of the works,
<br />lakes, reservoirs, dams, streams, ditches, trenches, pipes, drains,
<br />filters, valves, gauges, devices, grounds, enclosures, buildings,
<br />structures, ~ater treatment or testing facil1t1est equipment, proper-
<br />ties or works of the water system owned, controlled or managed by the
<br />Utilities 80ard of the city, or any waters, streams, waterways, water-
<br />courses, watersheds, places, tributaries or any of the waters in or of
<br />said water system at any place In or along the same, or within five
<br />(5) miles above any point from which such waters are taken for deli-
<br />very to the city's municipal water system.

<br />Section 122. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
<br />colorado, Is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40~90 as
<br />follows:
<br />
<br />9 40-90 Nandatory Water and Sewer Service
<br />
<br />All houses, buildings or properties within the Thornton City
<br />limits, subject to 9 40-41, shall receive water and sewer service only
<br />from the City's water and sewer sYStems. Service shall be, mandatory __
<br />for those houses, buildings or properties that are adjacent to the
<br />water system and within 400 linear feet of the sewer system. Property
<br />to be served shall comply with Section 40-37 of Chapter 40 of the
<br />Municipal Code.

<br />Section 123. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
<br />Colorado, Is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-91 as
<br />follows: ..

<br />9 40-91 Reconnectlon Charge for Violations
<br />
<br />A water user who has had water service disconnected for a viola-
<br />tion during the designated period of curtailment, restriction or pro-
<br />hibition as contained In the notice may again secure water service by
<br />paying a charge to have said service reconnected, which reconnect ion
<br />charge must be received by the Utilities Department prior to the time
<br />water service shall be reconnected.
