Section 115. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, i. hereby amended by the additIon of SectIon 40-83 a.
follows:

~ 40-83 Pa)'lM!nt of water charges

A. Water charges for metered service that has been rendered
shall be payable ten days after the billing date. This due
date i. stated on each bill.

B. Such statement shall become delinquent forty (40) days from
the date posted as the due date. Water Is subject to tur-
noff whenever a statement therefore has become delinquent,
provided that the Utilities Department shall give five (5)
days' written notice before actually turning off the water
for nonpayment. Such notice shall be mailed to the owner or
occupant or shall be delivered either to the owner or occu-
pant of the premises for which the charge is due. The obli-
gation to pay promptly for water service is not in any way
affected by the failure of the owner or the occupant of the
premises served to receive a statement for the service.

Section 116. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, Is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-84 as
follows:

~ 40-84 P~nt of sewer service charges

A. Sewer service charges that have been rendered shall be
payable ten days after the billing date. This due date is
stated on each bill.

8. Such statement shall become delinquent forty (40) days from
the date posted as the due date. Such notice shall be
maned to the owner or occupant or Shall be delivered either
to the owner or occupant of the premises for which the
charge is due. The obligation to pay promptly for sewer
service is not in any way affected by the failure of the
owner or the occupant of the premises served to receive a
statement for the service.

Section 117. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-85 as
follows:

~ 40-85 Unauthorized use of water

Any unauthorized use of water supplied by the city Shall be paid
for at the same rate as if the same had been authorized, together with
the cost incurred by the Utilities Oepartment in discovering and eli-
minating the unauthorized use. Such payment shall not in any way
affect any statutory or other liability which may have attached.JlL__

Section 118. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-86 as
follows:

~ 40-86 Extension of distribution or collection systems

The extension of any water distribution or sewer collection
system in order to serve a responsible individual applicant or appli-
cants whose property is located within the City of Thornton service
area shall be at the applicant's e~pense. All e~tensions other than
for individual service, shall be by extension policy contracts to be
approved by the City Council.

Section 119. That the City Code of the City of Thornton,
Colorado, is hereby amended by the addition of Section 40-87 as
follows:
