<br />The Wabash Project as <br />it is now configured <br />consists of a total <br />storage capacity <br />approximately 289 <br />acre-feet in four <br />storage vessels shown <br />on the project <br />schematic in Figure I. <br />Of the total storage volume, <br />approximately 160 <br />acre-feet of capacity in <br />Reservoir #3 will be <br />utilized for raw water <br />,.,,';.,.;.~~!ll1li1lf <br />storage. Inflow <br />sources will include <br />Cherry Creek and the <br />Parker-Iliff storm <br />drainage line. Plans <br />caJl for raw water to be <br />processed through a <br />five acre-foot wetland <br />treatment facility <br />(Reservoir # 1). <br />Processed water wiJl <br />then be stored in Reservoir #2 and #4 for additional wetland and in-lake treatment before non- <br />potable use or return to the stream as an augmentation supply. with additional. Prior analysis of the Wabash Complex <br />indicated that 419 acre-feet of storage metaJl or a portion of the water demand on those 100 <br />acres in two out of three years. In dry years, groundwater from the .Denver basin aquifers will be <br />utilized as a supplemental water supply. This conjunctive use of surface and groundwater <br />supplies is expected to meet the design demand at less cost than the development of a single new <br />firm yield supply. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
