6. The dietary department will immediately begin
using only the refer method of defrosting food
rather than run under cold water.
7. The maintenance department will move sprinkler
heads from under the trees to the front of the
trees for more efficient utilization of water
usage for irrigation.
8. Nursing staff will utilize shower rather than
baths when clinically appropriate and when it
is consistent with the resident wishes.

Summary:

The water usage at our facility is high with our mission

to provide quality resident care. Residents receive

hygiene _care consist:-e.nt_wi1:lL _their.wishe~ and cli.nical

condition. Even though our whirlpool tubs use much

more water than showers, it is not always appropriate

to substitute. Fluids must be provided during and

between meals. Our water conservation plan will focus

on identifying sources of waste and implementing cor-

rective action and monitoring the effectiveness.
