<br />" <br /> <br />supplier is unable to provide water audits for us, <br />we will perform internal audits utilizing monthly <br />tilling information to identify patterns of water <br />usage. The core group will meet quarterly and <br />give progress reports related to the activities in <br /> <br />their department. <br /> <br />We will also try to heighten <br /> <br />staff awareness of the need to conserve water <br /> <br /> <br />through staff meetings, inservices and posted <br /> <br /> <br />educational material. <br /> <br />INITIAL CONSERVATION MEASURES <br />1. Preventive maintenance on faucets will be con- <br /> <br />tinued and will be done in the following manner. <br /> <br /> <br />A. The maintenance man will, on a monthly basis, <br /> <br />check all faucets throughout the facility <br /> <br />and'immediate~y repair any 'foundleaking. <br /> <br />B. All staff will be instructed to immediately <br /> <br /> <br />enter on the maintenance repair log any <br /> <br />faucets found leaking in the facility. <br /> <br />Even <br /> <br />though preventive maintenance has been an <br />ongoing procedure, it will become more <br />formalized and have a higher priorty. <br />2. The current water closets at our facility have <br />a five gallon flush. Our maintenance depart- <br />ment will adjust the float to a three gallon <br />flush. They will further evaluate if this can <br />be further reduced to two gallons. <br />3. The maintenance, dietary and nursing departments <br />will obtain a list of water efficient equipment <br />or any equipment replacements. The laundry may <br />need to replace washing machines and efficient <br />replacements will be purchased. <br />4. Maintenance and dietary will monitor efficient <br />use of current equipment. Examples would be <br />running clothes and dish washers only with a <br />full load. <br /> <br />5. The maintenance department will replace current <br />shower heads with water efficient models. <br />
