ANNEX C <br /> COMMERCE AND TOURISM TASK FORCE #5 <br /> I . SITUATION <br /> Colorado periodically experiences drought conditions of varying <br /> degrees which impact Commerce and Tourism within the State. One <br /> of the first industries impacted is normally the Ski Industry <br /> which is highly dependent on a substantial snowpack. <br /> 2. PURPOSE <br /> The purpose of this annex is to describe and outline the procedures <br /> for drought impact assessment for Commerce and Tourism as a part of <br /> the overall Drought Assessment System. This includes defining the <br /> organization of the Task Force and its responsibilities. <br /> 3. CONCEPT/APPROACH <br /> The Commerce and Tourism Task Force represents a coordinated approach <br /> to assessing the impacts of the drought upon commerce and tourism with- <br /> in the State. The Task Force will consist of representatives of the <br /> following agencies. <br /> Division of Commerce and Tourism <br /> Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation <br /> U. S. Forest Service <br /> Bureau of Land Management <br /> National Park Service <br /> Colorado Ski Country U .S.A. <br /> Colorado/Wyoming Hotel/Motel Association <br /> Colorado Counties, Inc. <br /> Department of Labor and Employment <br /> Division of Housing <br /> Farmers Home Loan Administration <br /> Other agenciesas may be designated by the Task Force Chairperson. <br /> The Division of Commerce and Development, Department of Local Affairs <br /> will provide the Task Force Chairperson. The Task Force will meet <br /> at the call of the chairperson, at least once a month upon activa- <br /> tion to review drought conditions and their impact on Commerce and <br /> Tourism. <br /> TASKS <br /> Upon activation, review Task Force operational procedures and update <br /> as required. Gather drought impact information, evaluate this infor- <br /> mation and synthesize it reporting to the Review and Reporting Task <br /> Force, as well as to the lead response agencies. Economic impact data <br /> will be reported to the Economic Impact Task Force. Coordinate public <br /> information releases within the Task Force members' statutory responsi- <br /> bility. <br /> C-5-1 <br />
