Local governments and public associations assist State <br /> Agencies in the identification and assessment of drought <br /> impacts, respond within their capabilities and request <br /> State assistance when needs cannot be met locally. <br /> - Meeting frequency of Task Forces and the IACG will be <br /> determined by the Chairperson so as to keep leadership <br /> fully informed of assessment and response activities. <br /> - Frequency of Situation Reports (SITREPS) , assessments, and <br /> inter--agency response actions will be as recommended to the <br /> Governor by the Director of DODES. <br /> - Task Force Chairpersons and Lead Response Agency representatives <br /> are authorized to respond to questions from the media or issue <br /> news releases concerning their specific areas of responsibility. <br /> Where questions of potential conflict arise these should be <br /> referred to the Review and Reporting TF Chairperson (Director <br /> DODES) . Major policy announcements on overall drought assess- <br /> ment and response program status announcements will be made by <br /> the Office of the Governor? the Chairperson, Review and <br /> Reporting Task Force; and Chairperson IACG (Director-DODES) . <br /> When a drought disaster is Federally declared for Colorado, <br /> the Director DODES will be the State Coordinating Officer. <br /> 1 <br /> -7- <br />
