AMEC will work with the CWCB <br />at the beginning of the process to identify key information to communicate and share, <br />and the best methods to disseminate information with other stakeholders and the public. <br />Coordination with Other Agencies and Stakeholders: <br />3.2 Coordination with Colorado State agencies, Western States, NIDIS, NDMC and other relevant <br />groups. <br />The AMEC team has worked with (and for) the various state agencies that will be <br />involved. Coordination with CDEM will be extremely important, as this process will be <br />an element to the parallel effort of updating the State Hazard Mitigation Plan. The <br />National Drought Mitigation Center will be utilized as an important source of drought <br />mitigation resources. The Western States Governors Association will also be a source <br />of collaborative drought information, and recommended as a mechanism to promote <br />Colorado's planning efforts. AMEC staff has a working relationship with the federal <br />entities involved, including FEMA Region VIII mitigation staff, and USGS -NIDIS and <br />NOAA staff in Boulder. <br />The Planning Team will identify other key stakeholders to involve in the drought plan <br />update. These may include other federal or state agencies and programs, county and <br />municipal emergency managers, water commissioners, utility providers, flood control <br />and other special district representatives, as well as other representatives of business, <br />academia, and nonprofit organizations. Some representatives may be invited to <br />participate on the Planning Team, others may be incorporated through a workshop, <br />questionnaire, presentation at existing meeting, or other targeted outreach effort. <br />As part of this coordination AMEC will address the following items noted in the RFP <br />through the development of a data collection platform that identifies specific data needs <br />for the plan and for drought monitoring: <br />"the consultant will play an important role coordinating efforts by others on risk assessment, <br />drought Monitoring, mitigation and triggers from RFP through project completion, expertise in these <br />areas is not required.
