• Reporting —A draft report summarizing the results of the audits has been submitted to the City
and a draft of the final report is in preparation. The final report should be ready for delivery to
the state by late March.
Obstacles
A number of obstacles were encountered during project execution — some of which were described in
the 50% progress report. As previously noted, the project started later than anticipated due to the
timing of the Water Efficiency Grant award; but since the project started, no significant changes to
project schedule have occurred.
In addition, some field conditions that were encountered during installation of the retrofits impacted
the overall project costs and the expected water savings. The table below provides a summary of the
planned and actual installations.
Summary of Planned and Installed Retrofit Fixtures
Fixture Type
Location
Planned in Grant
Actual
Installed
Toilet
City Hall
16
14
Senior Center
5
5
Inglenook
30
36
Urinals
City Hall
3
0
Senior Center
1
0
Recreation Center
6
0
Police Station
5
0
Sink Faucet Aerators
City Hall
9
13
Senior Center
3
3
Recreation Center
14
13
Police Station
16
15
Inglenook
118
87
Showerheads
Recreation Center
14
14
Police Station
3
2
Inglenook
112
30
Showertimers
Recreation Center
4
3
There were a number of issues that arose during the installation phase of the project that hampered our
efforts to perform all the installations as envisioned during preparation of the grant application. These
issues included:
• A majority of the showers in Inglenook were found to contain hand held showerheads, which
were not available for the retrofits. Surplus showerheads are being used by the City in other
programs.
