This is a 50% matching grant study.
As scoped in the grant proposal, this study includes a total of nine tasks. Tasks 1 through 5 and 9A were
funded by the grant applicants and Tasks 6 through 8 and 9B were funded through the CWCB grant. A brief
summary of the status of each task is included below:
• Task 1 and 2 involved literature review of existing methods available to estimate consumptive use
associated with native vegetation, outdoor landscaping and conservation alternatives, and rainwater
capture infrastructure alternatives. The majority of these tasks are complete, with approximately 30%
of Task 2 remaining to be summarized for the final report.
• Tasks 3 through 6 involved evaluating the potential water savings through combining outdoor
landscaping and irrigation conservation practices with precipitation management. These tasks have
been entirely completed.
• Task 7 included developing a sample augmentation plan and is approximately 40% complete.
• Task 8 included a project report and is approximately 35% complete.
• Tasks 9A and 9B included project management for tracking work accomplished, maintaining budget
and schedule, regularly reporting the status of work activities, and promoting communication
between all parties contributing to this study. Task 9A is completed-and Task 9B is approximately
80% complete.
Under Tasks 9A and 9B, we scoped up to three meetings with each of the Advisory and Peer Review
Committees, including a project kickoff meeting and meetings at approximately 50% and 95%
completion of the study. The following committee meetings have been held:
Joint Advisory/Peer Review Committee Kickoff Meeting held May 15.
Joint Advisory/Peer Review Committee First Milestone Meeting held July 17. Conclusions from the
literature review phase of the study were presented.
Peer Review Committee technical meeting held August 9. Draft conclusions from the analysis phase
of the study were presented. Sensitivity analyses were performed as a follow-up, based on
.~_
WATER RIGHTS • GROUNDWATER • PERMITTING • WATER SUPPLY PLANNING ACEC
