Castle Rock Water Conservation Master Plan Backaround

The following information outlines usage over the last five years related to total
water production by month, as well as usage
by customer category, including indoor and
outdoor water use. Also included is
information related to precipitation and
temperature that is indicative of Castle Rock's
semi-arid, high desert climate.

"...five-year average
peaking and average
day use was used as
a baseline for
conservation
measure
effectiveness
evaluations. II

Water use profiles for the past five years were
used to identify usage patterns that consider
growth rates and weather patterns. This
information was used to develop an overall
average usage scenario. This five-year
average peaking and average day use
information was then used as a baseline for conservation measure effectiveness
evaluations.

Demand Characteristics

Raw Water Production

The following is water production information for the study period from 2000
through 2004.

Town of Castle Rock
Raw Water Production
2000-2004

350000
300000
250000
c; 200000
~ 150000
100000
50000
o

-+- 2000
____ 2001
---+- 2002
- - 2003
~ 2004

~~~ ~~ 0' ~~
~o ~v ~v ~~ ~
~t'lf <<. ~
~~
~0 ~ q 0' ~ ~ 0'
~v ~v ~~~~ ~~
~v ~0 oG ~0 (;0
C:J0~ ~o <:)0
*Note: Production does not include raw water used for irrigation of golf courses,
including the Plum Creek and Redhawk courses.
TM-1 Background December 2006
17
