Submitted to: State Office of Water Conservation
Submitted by: Jean loose and Charles Johnson

Resources have been:

. Charles Johnson, the agency's plumber has assisted with data
collection, and with all the plumbing aspects of this study.
Mr. Johnson talked with local plumbing supply places for
information and details involved in ordering and installing
infrared automatic faucets.

. Wayne Wright, Mr. Johnson's supervisor, has given advice
along the way to be sure all aspects of the project were
considered.

. Ned Wilson, manager of the new Adobe Creek Golf Course
in Fruita, which is currently using the infrared automatic
faucets, gave information about the flow rate per minute, and
the cost per unit installed. Mr. Wilson shared the importance
of putting in flow filters so the faucets would not clog so
easily.

. Mr. Johnson talked with the plumbing supply wholesale
company that ordered the faucets for Adobe Creek golf
course and gained additional information about ordering and
purchasing faucets.

. The plumber who installed the faucets at the golf course
provided us with the same information as Mr. Wilson.

. Measurements of the amount of water used, and the time
water ran for hand washing were done five times at the Fruita
golf course. The data collected was compared with figures
we had obtained at our agency. Those figures are found in
Phase 3 of this report.

. Eldon Krugman from the Energy office locally, helped
calculate the energy savings related to the water saved and
provided other useful information.

Page 7
