Submitted to: State Office of Water Conservation
Submitted by: Jean Loose and Charles Johnson

QUESTION 4 Community involvement in project.

The community resources mentioned in Question 3, were
involv(~ with helping us plan our project.

QUESTION f. Sharing results of project with community.

This information will be shared in a summary of the
project with local health care facilities such as hospitals, nursing
homes, and clinics. An attempt will be made to have the local
newspaper and TV stations do a community interest story about
the results. This information will also be shared with our sister
facilities in Denver and Pueblo. Assistance will be provided to
any of these facilities concerning a similar project.

QUESTION 4; Innovative features of project and other benefits
to the agency.

Other than water and energy savings, infrared automatic
faucets would benefit the agency staff and clients in several ways:

1. Handwashing would be more hygienic as faucets would
never have to be touched.

2. Running water would be more accessible when one hand
is needed to support the client and the other hand has a
toothbrush, washcloth or other object.

3. The faucets are handicapped accessible.

4. Sink overflow would be eliminated at times when a client
turns faucets on but does not turn them off.

5. Water and energy conservation are becoming a necessity.
The GJRC, with the frequency of handwashing, could
save a substantial amount of water and energy.

Page 8
