exploration that has occurred. Exploration, development and, removal of gold ores is anticipated
to occur underground along the extensions of the historic Black Diamond vein and from any
other areas where ore -grade materials might be found as a result of exploration. The ores will be
moved from the mine to the surface support area, where they will be temporarily stored, and then
transported to a custom mill. Movement of materials and personnel on the main tunnel level
will be performed using rubber tired equipment including load - haul -dumps (LHDs), underground
trucks, and various other conveyances. Material movement on other underground levels could
use rubber tired equipment or rail haulage, depending on the results of exploration and
development results. Haulage in the main winze will be via rope hoist which will lift skips,
cages, and sinking equipment as necessary. The use of a Cryderman in existing portions of the
winze is not likely. Material from the lower levels will be hauled to the skip, the skip will raise
and dump it into a temporary storage bin on the main tunnel level and it will be hauled to the
portal for temporary storage. The ore will be transported offsite to a custom mill for
beneficiation. Where possible, waste rock will be deposited in existing, or to be created,
underground openings when safe to do so. At this time, no specific mining plan for removing
ores can be developed since the delineation of ore bodies has not been completed. There are
incidental products anticipated to be produced by this mine.
Since little additional surface disturbance is anticipated, beyond the historical approximate 3
acres disturbed area, but is not planned at this time. In the event additional surface is disturbed,
the operator will do its best to segregate and stockpile any topsoil that might be encountered.
The stockpiled topsoil will be either saved for future reclamation or used for reclamation
purposes in the near term. As the area contains only minimal topsoil, care will be taken to
carefully manage any that is available so as to maximize the effectiveness of the reclamation.
Map E -2 shows the location of the air raise area, which was installed during the exploration
phase. The air raise was installed for the safety of the underground crews and to allow better
management of the shared ventilation of the connected mine workings. The area included is 0.58
acres in the immediate vicinity of the collar of that raise. The area includes the raise, along with
room to complete 2 additional raise bores in the immediate area should they be needed in the
future. The area is accessed via Teller County 821 using an short existing road that is located on
the same claim as the permit area. The use of the area is dominantly to support the raise and its
appurtenances. An existing road connects the raise bore with Teller County road 82, and there is
an existing old road that leads from this area, west back towards Cripple Creek. The current
amount of affected land, above the historical disturbances is approximately 2,800 square feet
(0.06 acres)
Regular hours of operation for the project are to be from 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday
