EXHIBIT C- MINING PLAN
Similar to most of the historic operations in the district, the mine area dates back as far as the
1890's, and consists of prospect pits and trenches, roads, shafts and tunnels (adits). The main
feature of the mining operation is the existing Sangre de Christo Tunnel (sometimes referred to
as the "Sangre de Cristo Tunnel ") that was started sometime after the beginning of the 201h
Century. This historic tunnel is used to gain access to the Black Diamond vein, along with other
areas, that are being explored. The permit area contains no remaining historic buildings or
fabricated mining structures and currently only the temporary structures associated with the
current exploration occurring on the property. Access to the permit area is via the historic
Highway 67 and the historic County Road 81, that originally provided access to Cripple Creek
from the north and east.
The old Highway 67 runs from the north side of the Town of Cripple Creek to the top of the pass
located between Carbonate and Tenderfoot Hills where it intersects the current Highway 67. The
portion of County Road 81 that is used to access the permit area is the old western extension of
the road that currently leads eastward to Poverty Gulch and Hoosier Pass. This road crossed the
current alignment of Highway 67 just a few feet west of the Molly Kathleen Mine entrance gate.
The access roads to the permit area are in serviceable condition, have reasonable grades for the
purpose for which they were intended, and can be used without any significant upgrades.
The Exhibit Maps E -1 and E -2 show two separate areas that are included with the permit area.
The Sangre de Christo Tunnel Area is the largest of the two and is shown on Maps E -lA and E-
1B. Map E -lA shows the permit area, adjacent lands and ownership, and Map E -1B is of a
larger scale showing additional detail within the permit area. The maps show the location of the
Sangre de Christo Tunnel, and miscellaneous facilities associated with the mine, overlain on a 2-
foot contour topographic map generated in- house. The area contained within this portion of the
permit area is 9.35 acres. The facilities that will be used include an office trailer and various
portable steel containers that are to be used for storage, a dry, and shifter office. Also included is
an area for storing blasting agents, an area used for fuel storage, and areas for equipment storage
and parking. The blasting agent storage area is shown on the maps as being located near the
northeast corner of the permit area. The fuel storage area consists of a single 500 gallon above
ground fuel tank located near the intersection of the access road and the north side of the old
historic mine dump. Equipment, parts storage, and vehicle parking are located on available areas
of the mine dump. Surface equipment will include: compressors, generators, loaders and other
various miscellaneous equipment including timber and tools.
The mining plan for the Sangre de Christo Tunnel will differ very little from the current
