May 16, 2013 C- 1981 - 010 /Trapper Mine JLE <br />West Pyeatt Pond No. 1 was cleaned recently. The pond was not discharging and the primary and emergency <br />spillways appeared clear and functional. <br />West Pyeatt Pond No. 2 was holding water but was not discharging. The embankment was stable and vegetated. <br />The primary and emergency spillway appeared clear and functional. <br />Middle Pyeatt Pond No. 3 was not holding water and was not discharging. The embankment was stable and <br />vegetated. The primary and emergency spillway appeared clear and functional. <br />East Pyeatt Pond No. 3 was holding water but was discharging. The embankment was stable and vegetated. The <br />primary and emergency spillway appeared clear and functional. The sedimentation marker was in place and the <br />capacity seemed adequate. <br />Grouse Pond No. 1 was holding water but was not discharging. The primary and emergency spillway appeared <br />clear and functional. The embankment was stable and vegetated; however several badger holes were observed on <br />the embankment and will need to be filled in. Yellow toadflax was also observed near the dam embankment and <br />will need to be monitored and treated in accordance with the approved weed control plan. <br />Grouse Pond No. 2 was not holding water and was not discharging. The primary and emergency spillway was <br />clear and functional. The embankment was stable and vegetated. <br />Oak Pond No. 2 was holding water but was not discharging. The embankment was stable and vegetated. The <br />primary and emergency spillway appeared clear and functional. The sedimentation marker is in place and the <br />capacity appears adequate. <br />Oak Pond No. 1 was holding water but was not discharging. The embankment was stable and vegetated. The <br />primary and emergency spillway appeared clear and functional. <br />The re- established drainage in Oak gulch was walked. Large check dams have been placed at short intervals along <br />the drainage. Sediment has collected behind the check dams. The Division recommends that the sediment behind <br />the check dams be cleared out periodically to maintain the functionality of these check dams. <br />West Flume #1 pond was holding water but was not discharging. The embankment was stable and vegetated. The <br />primary and emergency spillway appeared clear and functional. The sediment marker was in place and the <br />capacity appears adequate. <br />Middle Flume #3 pond was holding water and discharging. The embankment was stable and vegetated. The <br />primary and emergency spillway was clear and functional. A small amount of water was observed undercutting <br />the flume. The flume will need to be repaired. <br />East Middle Flume #1 pond was not holding water or discharging.
