Products will be moved off -site as discussed
below. Other activities on the site may include portable crusher and screening equipment and
associated equipment needed for reclamation and other purposes, including production of
ready -mixed concrete and /or asphalt (hot mix). Operations will be conducted during daylight
hours, generally Monday through Friday during daylight hours and usually between 8 AM and 5
PM, with some extended hours and weekend work when approved by the Montezuma County
Commissioners. For planning purposes, the following is assumed, using a 200 -250 ton /hour
crushing /screenin q plant capacity:
Annual
production tons
Mining
days
Tons /day
extracted
Processing
days
Tons /day
processed
70,000
35
2,000
40
<2,000
TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION
Materials mined and processed at the New Hay Camp Pit will be transported by truck to
plants or construction sites for further processing and use.
ROUTES
Based on anticipated markets during the life of the pit, all traffic will travel south and west on
County Road S to Highway 184, and then to Dolores, Cortez, Mancos and rural destinations via
state highway. As New Hay Camp Pit operations are relocating from Hay Camp Pit, no change
in traffic on state highways is expected: traffic on county highways will be reduced.
