8,647 cubic yards of in place overburden will produce 15,565 cubic yards or 14,000 ton
of broken material. 5,333 cubic yards of broken overburden will be placed in the 60 foot
by 60 foot by 40 foot 2017 mined area and the remaining 10,232 cubic yards of
overburden will be temporarily stored in the area to the southeast of the northwesterly
mining advance (Map E9).
The area to be mined in the 2018 Phase 6 mining cycle would have been cleared of top
soil and overburden in 2017. The 2018 mining area 60 feet in width by 60 feet in length
by 40 feet in depth will be drilled and blasted using same procedures as previous mining
operations and will produce approximately 8,600 ton of rubblized oil shale which will be
shipped off site for crushing and testing. As in the 2017 mining cycle approximately
1,000 cubic yards of minus1 /2 inch material from the offsite crushing operation will be
returned to the mine site and blended with overburden. After the rubblized material is
hauled from the 60 foot by 60 foot by 40 foot, 2018 mined area the upslope storm water
diversion structure will be extended to the northwest and overburden from the area to
be mined in 2019 will be removed. The 5,092 cubic yards of in place overburden will
produce 9,167 cubic yards or 8,250 ton of broken material. 5,333 cubic yards of broken
overburden will be placed in the 60 foot by 60 foot by 40 foot 2017 mined area and the
remaining 2,917 cubic yards of overburden will be temporarily stored in the area to the
southeast of the northwesterly mining advance (Map E10).
The area to be mined in the 2019 Phase 7 mining cycle would have been cleared of top
soil in 2017 and overburden in 2018. The 2019 mining area 60 feet in width by 60 feet in
length by 40 feet in depth will be drilled and blasted using same procedures as previous
mining operations and will produce approximately 8,600 ton of rubblized oil shale which
will be shipped off site for crushing and testing. As in the 2018 mining cycle
approximately 1,000 cubic yards of minus1 /2 inch material from the offsite crushing
operation will be returned to the mine site and blended with overburden. After the
rubblized material is hauled from the 60 foot by 60 foot by 40 foot 2019 mined area,
overburden from the area to be mined in 2020 will be removed. The 4,323 cubic yards
of in place overburden will produce 7,781 cubic yards or 7,003 ton of broken material.
5,333 cubic yards of broken overburden will be placed in the 60 foot by 60 foot by 40
foot 2017 mined area and the remaining 2,448 cubic yards of overburden will be
temporarily stored in the area to the southeast of the northwesterly mining advance (Map
E11).
The area to be mined in the 2020 Phase 8 mining cycle would have been cleared of top
soil in 2017 and overburden in 2019. The 2020 mining area 60 feet in width by 60 feet in
length by 40 feet in depth will be drilled and blasted using same procedures as previous
mining operations and will produce approximately 8,600 ton of rubblized oil shale which
