5. Bond Sufficiency: The current bond of $23,560 is considered sufficient to cover the cost of <br />reclamation. Following is an estimation of the reclamation costs for the pit in <br />its current condition, but without the need to remove the small amount of <br />crushed asphalt. <br />(Note: It is also understood, as pointed out in the inspection report for the April 4, 2013 inspection, <br />that prior to the resumption of mining a Technical Revision will be submitted to increase the amount <br />of disturbance allowable from the current 10 acres to a greater amount. Currently there is about 12 <br />acres of unvegetated, but stablized, affected land. The amount of increase would depend on what is <br />needed at the time that resumption would occur. Increasing the acreage of major disturbance would <br />likely result in an increase in the reclamation costs beyond the current bond amount and that would <br />result in a need to provide a new bond.) <br />It is therefore respectfully requested that temporary cessation be allowed to occur for the first five <br />year period as provided for in the rules and regulations. <br />Vollmer Pit M- 1983 -035 2013 Temporary Cessation Notice Page 2 of 2 <br />
