Habitat includes <br />ponderosa pine, mixed- conifer, and <br />spruce fir forests and is patchily <br />distributed. State and private lands are <br />not designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -E-4. Carrizo in Lincoln County, <br />New Mexico <br />This unit is located in the Carrizo <br />Mountains, 7 mi (11 km) east of <br />Carrizozo, New Mexico. It contains <br />primarily FS (Smokey Bear Ranger <br />District, Lincoln National Forest) lands. <br />Habitat includes ponderosa pine, <br />mixed- conifer, and spruce fir forests and <br />is patchy distributed. State and private <br />lands are not designated as critical <br />habitat. <br />Unit BR-E-5. Manzano Mountains, <br />Torrance County, New Mexico <br />This unit is located in the Manzano <br />Mountains, approximately 24 mi (38.6 <br />km) east of Belen, New Mexico. It <br />contains primarily Cibola National <br />Forest lands. Habitat includes <br />ponderosa pine, mixed- conifer, and <br />spruce fir forests and is patchily <br />distributed. WUI project areas, State and <br />private lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -E -7. Sandia Mountain, New <br />Mexico <br />This unit is located in the Sandia <br />Mountains, 12 mi (19 km) east of <br />Albuquerque, New Mexico. It contains <br />primarily Cibola National Forest lands. <br />Habitat includes ponderosa pine, <br />mixed- conifer, and spruce fir forests and <br />is patchy distributed. WUI project areas, <br />State and private lands are not <br />designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -2. Prescott National Forest, <br />Yavapai County, Arizona <br />This unit is located south of Prescott, <br />Arizona, on the Prescott National Forest. <br />The northwestern arm of the unit <br />encompasses the area south of Iron <br />Springs and runs south to near Mount <br />Francis. The area located due south of <br />Prescott, Arizona, encompasses <br />Maverick and Lookout Mountains to the <br />west, and stretches east, just beyond the <br />Gila -Salt Meridian. The southernmost <br />portion of this unit includes part of <br />Crooks Canyon. WUI project areas, State <br />and private lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -3. Prescott National Forest, <br />Yavapai County, Arizona <br />This unit is located in the Bradshaw <br />Mountains on the Prescott National <br />Forest, and is approximately centered <br />on Crown King, Arizona. The unit runs <br />north to the south slope of Tuscumbia <br />Mountain and runs southeast to the <br />north slope of Lane Mountain. WUI <br />project areas, State and private lands are <br />not designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -4. Tonto National Forest, <br />Yavapai, Gila, and Maricopa Counties, <br />Arizona <br />This unit is located within the <br />Mazatzal Wilderness on the Tonto <br />National Forest, Arizona. The unit <br />begins in the north at North Peak and <br />runs south encompassing the Mazatzal <br />Mountains south to Buckhorn <br />Mountain. State and private lands are <br />not designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit BR-W-5. Tonto National Forest, <br />Gila County, Arizona <br />This unit is located on the Tonto <br />National Forest, Arizona, and runs <br />southeast from Pine Mountain, towards <br />Greenback Peak, south to Round <br />Mountain. The area includes the <br />northern half of the Salome Wilderness <br />and the Sierra Ancha Wilderness. State <br />and private lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -6. Pinal Mountains Area, <br />Gila County, Arizona <br />This unit is located south of Miami <br />and Globe, Arizona. It is south of U.S. <br />Highway 60 and west of State Highway <br />77. It is centered on the Pinal Mountains <br />and contains much of the owl habitat <br />within that mountain range. It is <br />primarily on the Globe Ranger District <br />of the Tonto National Forest. It also <br />contains a small portion of BLM lands. <br />WUI project areas, State, private, and <br />BLM lands are not designated as critical <br />habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -7. Santa Teresa Mountains <br />Area, Graham County, Arizona <br />This unit is located south of the San <br />Carlos Indian Reservation and north of <br />Klondyke, Arizona. It is centered on the <br />Santa Teresa Mountains and contains <br />much of the owl habitat within that <br />mountain range. It is primarily on the <br />Safford Ranger District of the Coronado <br />National Forest. State, private, BLM, <br />and Tribal lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit BR-W-8. Pinaleno Mountains <br />Area, Graham County, Arizona <br />This unit is located southwest <br />Safford, Arizona. It is centered on the <br />Pinaleno Mountains and contains much <br />of the owl habitat within that mountain <br />range. It is primarily on the Safford <br />Ranger District of the Coronado National <br />Forest. WUI project areas, State and <br />private lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -9. Galiuro Mountains Area, <br />Graham County, Arizona <br />This unit is located south of <br />Klondyke, Arizona. It is centered on the <br />Galiuro Mountains and contains much <br />of the owl habitat within that mountain <br />range. It is on the Safford Ranger District <br />of the Coronado National Forest. State, <br />private and BLM lands are not <br />designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -10. Winchester Mountains <br />Area, Cochise County, Arizona <br />This unit is located northwest of <br />Willcox, Arizona. It is centered on the <br />Winchester Mountains and contains <br />much of the owl habitat within that <br />mountain range. It is primarily on the <br />Safford Ranger District of the Coronado <br />National Forest. State, private, and BLM <br />lands are not designated as critical <br />habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -11. Santa Catalina and <br />Rincon Mountains Area, Pima and Pinal <br />Counties, Arizona <br />This unit is located north and east of <br />Tucson, Arizona. It is centered on the <br />Santa Catalina and Rincon Mountains <br />and contains much of the owl habitat <br />within those mountain ranges. It is <br />primarily on the Santa Catalina Ranger <br />District of the Coronado National Forest. <br />WUI project areas, State and <br />privatelands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -12. Santa Rita Mountains <br />Area, Santa Cruz ,and Pima Counties, <br />Arizona <br />This unit is located west of Sonoita, <br />Arizona. It is centered on the Santa Rita <br />Mountains and contains much of the <br />owl habitat within that mountain range. <br />It is primarily on the Nogales Ranger <br />District of the Coronado National Forest. <br />State and private lands are not <br />designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -13. Atascosa and Pajarito <br />Mountains Area, Santa Cruz County, <br />Arizona <br />This unit is located west of Nogales, <br />Arizona.
