It is centered on the <br />Patagonia Mountains and contains <br />much of the owl habitat within that <br />mountain range. It is primarily on the <br />Sierra Vista Ranger District of the <br />Coronado National Forest. WUI project <br />areas, State and private lands are not <br />designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -15. Huachuca Mountains <br />Area, Cochise County, Arizona <br />This unit is located west and south of <br />Sierra Vista, Arizona. It is centered on <br />the Huachuca Mountains and contains <br />much of the owl habitat within that <br />mountain range. It is on the Sierra Vista <br />Ranger District of the Coronado National <br />Forest. WUI project areas, State, private, <br />and military lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -16. Whetstone Mountains <br />Area, Cochise County, Arizona <br />This unit is located southwest of <br />Benson, Arizona. It is centered on the <br />Whetstone Mountains and contains <br />much of the owl habitat within that <br />mountain range. It is primarily on the <br />Sierra Vista Ranger District of the <br />Coronado National Forest. State and <br />private lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit BR -W -18. Chiricahua Mountains <br />Area, Cochise County, Arizona <br />This unit is located northeast of <br />Douglas, Arizona. It is centered on the <br />Chiricahua Mountains and contains <br />much of the owl habitat within that <br />mountain range. It is on the Douglas <br />Ranger District of the Coronado National <br />Forest. WUI project areas, State and <br />privatelands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit UGM -2. Magdalena Mountains, <br />Socorro County, New Mexico <br />This unit is located in the Magdalena <br />Mountains, 6 mi (9.6 km) south of <br />Magdalena, New Mexico. It contains <br />primarily FS (Magdalena Ranger <br />District, Cibola National Forests) lands. <br />This unit contains ponderosa pine, <br />mixed - conifer, spruce fir, stringers of <br />deciduous riparian forests. WUI project <br />areas, State and private lands are not <br />designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit UGM -3. San Mateo Mountains, <br />Socorro County, New Mexico <br />Magdalena, New Mexico. It contains <br />primarily FS (Magdalena Ranger <br />District, Cibola National Forests) lands. <br />This unit contains ponderosa pine, <br />mixed - conifer, spruce fir, stringers of <br />deciduous riparian forests. Gila National Forest <br />Catron, and Grant Counties, New <br />Mexico <br />This unit is located in the Gila <br />Mountains, north of Silver City, New <br />Mexico. It contains primarily Gila <br />National Forests lands. This unit <br />contains ponderosa pine, mixed- conifer, <br />spruce fir, stringers of deciduous <br />riparian forests. WUI project areas, State <br />and private lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit UGM -5b. Gila National Forest, <br />Sierra, Catron, and Grant Counties, New <br />Mexico <br />This unit is located in the Gila <br />Mountains, approximately 30 mi (48 <br />km) west of Truth or Consequences, <br />New Mexico. It contains primarily Gila <br />National Forests lands. This unit <br />contains ponderosa pine, mixed - conifer, <br />spruce fir, stringers of deciduous <br />riparian forests. WUI project areas, State <br />and private lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit UGM -6. Gila Mountains, Catron <br />County, New Mexico <br />This unit is located in the Gila <br />Mountains, North of Silver City, New <br />Mexico. It contains primarily FS <br />(Reserve Ranger District, Gila National <br />Forests) lands. This unit contains <br />ponderosa pine, mixed- conifer, spruce <br />fir, stringers of deciduous riparian <br />forests. WUI project areas, State and <br />private lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit UGM -7. Apache - Sitgreaves and <br />Gila National Forests, Catron County, <br />New Mexico, Graham and Greenlee <br />Counties, Arizona <br />This unit is located in the Mogollon <br />Rim in Arizona and New Mexico. It <br />contains primarily FS lands. This unit <br />contains ponderosa pine, mixed - conifer, <br />spruce fir, stringers of deciduous <br />riparian forests. WUI project areas, <br />State, private, and Tribal lands are not <br />designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit UGM -10. Coconino National <br />Forest, Apache - Sitgreaves National <br />Forest, and Tonto National Forests, <br />Coconino, Gila, and Yavapai Counties, <br />Arizona <br />This unit is located in the San Mateo This unit is located north, northwest, <br />Mountains, 36 mi (58 km) southwest of east, and southeast of Payson, Arizona. <br />The western boundary of this unit runs <br />parallel to the Yavapai County — <br />Coconino County line, south to the <br />Mogollon Rim. The southwest boundary <br />runs along the Mogollon Rim. To the <br />north, the unit encompasses the <br />Coconino County portion of West Clear <br />Creek and runs east along Jacks Canyon <br />on the Coconino National Forest. The <br />unit includes portions of West <br />Chevelon, Chevelon, and Wildcat <br />Canyons on the Apache - Sitgreaves <br />National Forest and extends from Heber, <br />Arizona, through the Apache - Sitgreaves <br />National Forest, "south along the Tonto <br />National Forest boundary to Gentry <br />Mountain. State and private lands are <br />not designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit UGM -11. Coconino National <br />Forest, Coconino and Yavapai Counties, <br />Arizona <br />This unit is located south of <br />Mountainaire, Arizona and runs south - <br />southeast, encompassing Howard, <br />Mormon, and Hutch Mountains. To the <br />west, the unit parallels Interstate 17, <br />skirting Stoneman Lake. The southern <br />boundary runs from east of Apache <br />Maid Mountain to Happy Jack, Arizona, <br />south to Willow Valley Dam. The unit <br />does not include Mormon Lake and the <br />area due south to Double Cabin Park. <br />WUI project areas, State and private <br />lands are not designated as critical <br />habitat. <br />Unit UGM -12. Coconino National <br />Forest, Coconino County, Arizona <br />This unit is located east of Flagstaff, <br />Arizona. WUI project areas, State and <br />private lands are not designated as <br />critical habitat. <br />Unit UGM -13. Coconino National <br />Forest, Kaibab National Forest, Prescott <br />National Forest, and Camp Navajo <br />Army Depot; Coconino and Yavapai <br />Counties, Arizona <br />This unit is located approximately <br />between Williams and Flagstaff, <br />Arizona, to the north, and runs south to <br />the Mogollon Rim. The western portion <br />of the unit encompasses the area south <br />of Williams, Arizona, south to the <br />Mogollon Rim. This area includes Bill <br />Williams Mountain, Sycamore Canyon <br />Wilderness, and Volunteer Canyon. <br />WUI project areas, State, private, and <br />the Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station <br />are not designated as critical habitat. <br />Unit UGM -14. Coconino National <br />Forest, Coconino County, Arizona <br />This unit is located due north of <br />Flagstaff, Arizona, and encompasses the <br />San Francisco Peaks. The unit also <br />includes the Hochderffer Hills, O'Leary <br />Peak, the Dry Lake Hills, and Elden <br />
