6 . DISTURBANCES
Five mining and reclamation phase maps depicting the
status of lands within the Climax property have been developed
in a sequential time order and entered in Appendix I and at the
end of Section 6 . Phase I has lapsed . Phase II through Phase
III maps illustrate the changes that have and will occur in
land status of 36 disturbance sites until the approximate year
2030 . Disturbed sites are labeled on maps and referred to with
numerals, ( 1) through ( 36 ) . Land status is symbolized on the
maps to indicate affected , or under the process of reclamation.
Sites under the process of reclamation remain legally affected .
Correlated with the phase maps is a timetable , (Table
6 .1 ) , which indicates for each disturbed site the changes in
land status acreage from one phase to the next. Since
disturbances and reclamation are on-going processes throughout
all phases , acreages listed for each site are indicative of its
land status existing at the end of each phase .
6 . 2 AFFECTED LANDS
Climax submits a total of 7671 acres of affected
lands for purposes of bonding during 1981 ofYPhase II of the
mining and reclamation plan.
Most of the major disturbances associated with all
phases of the mining plan have been referred to in Section 2,
Project Description/Mining Plan. Each numerated area of
presently affected land is described or referenced in the
following paragraphs.
Area ( 1 ) includes the Open Pit operation (pit, haul
roads and stockpiles) , in conjunction with subsidence from
underground mining , and currently affects approximately 1154
acres. Directly associated with the Open Pit operations are
the Cirque Dump ( 2 ) and McNulty Dump ( 6 ) , "which have respective
acreages of 133 and 368 acres at this time . The Low Grade Ore
Stockpile ( 12 ) currently affects 199 acres . Service corridors
( 8 , 10 , 16 , 17 , 20 , 25 , 26 . 28 ) for tailing delivery lines,
domestic and millwater lines, interceptor canals , gas lines,
6-1
