Nam <br />CCV Mine Permit Comments <br />City of Cripple Creek <br />June 11, 2008 <br />Page 5 <br />and what mitigation to noise or damage, including financial guarantees is <br />proposed for the City to review and approve. <br />POINT EIGHT - WATER QUALITY AND SUPPLY <br />CCV Shall provide a water consumption plan and source and use analysis, <br />currently the City of Victor leases water from Cripple Creek for use in their <br />domestic water system, which then leases water to CCV from their <br />entitlement. This regimen needs to be fully addressed for the mine <br />extension permit. <br />Flood Control, the current proposal if it worts would be satisfactory, <br />however if the retention basks fail there could be flooding in Poverty <br />Gulch, this "Drainage Plan' will require financial guarantee's to be posted. <br />POINT NINE - RE- DIRECTION OF HEAVY TRUCK TRAFFIC <br />Since the opening of mining operation — a great deal of truck traffic is <br />City heavy trucks and � chemical tlrb creates that P for an <br />accident with the <br />the appseval of the extension, ALL truck traffic shall be � on VIiith <br />the <br />new road being built by CCV. <br />POINT TEN - A COMMITMENT BY CCV TO FULLY MAINTAIN <br />THE AMERICAN EAGLE MINE AS AN OPEN HISTORIC TOURISM <br />PLATFORM. <br />Concern by many citizens has been raised as to the continued access to <br />the American Eagle mine. A condition on the extension must be made to <br />require that this historic mire site be maintained open to fie Pubtic tires is <br />a promise that was made, but river formalized In writing. <br />IS <br />A great has been said about the economic benefits of the continued mining <br />operations, however the mine will close, as we can clearly see from <br />downturns in the housing market, when this happens and happen it will, we <br />need to be assured that the transition allows this historic city to benefit <br />from the mining operation and not be economically devastated by It. <br />
