2.0 SUMMARY OF EARTHWORK CONSTRUCTION
Earthworks activities associated with the LOB Liner Extension included the following:
■ Site excavation and reshaping per the drawings;
• BF placement and compaction, and preparation of BF surface for GCL deployment;
■ acceptance of the installed GCL prior to geomembrane deployment;
■ 80 -mil LLDPE single sided texture deployment and acceptance
■ BF placement above the geomembrane layer; and
■ re- placement of SF to finish grade per the drawings
Ames generally used the following equipment during construction:
• Caterpillar D6 LGP Dozer;
■ Caterpillar 988 Loader;
■ John Deere 544 Loader;
■ Caterpillar 777 Haul Trucks;
■ Caterpillar 740 Haul Trucks;
■ Caterpillar CS563 Compactor;
■ Caterpillar 312 Trackhoe ;
■ Caterpillar 330 Trackhoe
• Caterpillar 385 Trackhoe;
• John Deere 850 Trackhoe;
• Bobcat Skid Steer Loader; and
■ Tandem -axle Water Truck
Table 2 presents a summary of the weather during the period of October 10th through October
12th 2011 for the construction activities.
