Mr. Tenore
Page 14
October 2, 2012
12. The Reclamation Plan Map states overburden will be replaced at depths between lft. and 15
ft. However, the Executive Summary provided with the Application states overburden will
be replaced at depths between lft. and 20 ft. Please clarify this discrepancy.
The revised Reclamation Map has corrected this discrepancy. Depth of fill will not exceed ten
(10) feet.
13. The Reclamation Plan Map states Ponderosa Pine and Rocky Mountain Juniper will be
planted during final reclamation of the site. Please specify if these plants will be planted as
seeds or saplings.
The Ponderosa Pine and Rocky Mountain Juniper will be planted as seeds.
6.4.6 Exhibit F — Reclamation Plan Map
14. Please revise the Reclamation Plan Map to include a title as required by Rule 6.2.1(2)(e).
See revised Reclamation Plan Map title.
15. The Reclamation Plan Map shows the reclaimed slopes will be 3H:1 V. The map also depicts
the proposed benches which will form the 3H:1V slopes. The area labeled as `existing
quarry' shows that the benches will run parallel to the reclaimed slope. The Division assumes
this is an error on the map. Please revise the map accordingly.
The revised Reclamation Map has corrected this error.
6.4.7 Exhibit G — Water Information,
6.4.8 Exhibit H — Wildlife Information
6.4.9 Exhibit I — Soils Information
6.4.10 Exhibit J — Vegetation Information
6.4.11 Exhibit K — Climate
No comment (on the above).
6.4.12 Exhibit L — Reclamation Costs
16. The Applicant has stated the estimated cost to reclaim the 25 acre site is $50,000. This
appears to be based off of the Division's 2004 financial warranty estimate. The 2004
financial warranty estimate was based on a maximum disturbance of 7 -8 acres and not on the
total 9.9 permit area. The Division will calculate the required financial warranty amount once
all of the adequacy issues have been addressed.
Understood — please see response to comment 6.4.4, above, for "maximum disturbance"
calculation.
6.4.13 Exhibit M — Other Permits and Licenses
No comment.
6.4.14 Exhibit N — Source of Legal Right to Enter
