performed in 2010. <br />Weed control, measures targeting State listed and local species of concern including: <br />Knapweed(s), Thistle(s), White Top, Curly Cup Gumweed, Russian - Olive, Saltcedar, <br />Burdock, Mullein, Halogeton, and Western Whorled Milkweed were performed via spot <br />spraying in areas where they were located. Weed control was performed by WFC and a <br />licensed weed control company. Pest Management, consisting of Prairie Dog control <br />was not formally practiced on in the vicinity of the Bond Release Areas, as very few <br />Prairie Dogs were observed in 2010. <br />Fertilizer was not applied in 2010 to the Irrigated Pasture Reclaimed Areas. Hay <br />production listed by property owner giving the details of the first cutting are <br />summarized in the 2010 ARR, and this report documents that forage harvest data was <br />collected from 219.59 acres of Irrigated Pasture Reclamation that were harvested for <br />hay, with the weighted average production being 1,303 pounds of field dried forage per <br />acre. Irrigated water was diverted into the CCC ditch on 6 May and irrigation <br />commenced on these areas about 8 May. The CCC Ditch water was shut off on 18 <br />October 2010. <br />Grazing occurred on the Irrigated Pasture Reclaimed Areas during 2010. Ward <br />Burbridge grazed approximately 30 head of cattle starting about 1 November 2010 on <br />approximately 59 acres on the Benson east area and continued there for approximately <br />three weeks. Grazing then progressed to the Benson south, Goforth, San Miguel, and <br />Burbridge properties, and approximately 152 acres were grazed. Mr. Burbridge started <br />supplemental feeding of his cattle with grass hay around 1 December 2010 and <br />continued this feeding until about 1 May 2011. <br />On the Irrigated Pasture reclaimed lands to the south of 5' Avenue, the Staats family <br />grazed approximately 210 head of cattle from 1 February 2010 through 5 March 2010, <br />when most of the animals were moved out, except 15 cows which were finally moved <br />out 15 March 2010 after they had calved. <br />On the Irrigated Pasture Reference Area, no rill or gully repair work was performed. <br />Weed control was identical to that for the Irrigated Pasture Bond Release Areas. <br />Fertilizer, was not applied to this area in 2010. Irrigation, consisting of 10 shares of <br />water, was applied to the 6.8 acre site Irrigated Pasture Reference Area, commencing on <br />about 19 April and ending on 8 October 2010. Grazing, involving the grazing of <br />between 3 and 7 head of horses commenced on the Irrigated Pasture Reference Area <br />about 1 September 2010 and ended about 26 November 2010. The sod was also ripped <br />in the spring to promote plant growth and create furrows which aided in the application <br />of flood irrigation waters. Ditch maintenance work continued and gated aluminum pipe <br />was installed on the site to improve irrigation efficiency. <br />Management Practices Utilized in 2009.
