4.2.5 Joints shall be accordance with ASTM C 361 with the exception <br /> that a single stepped spigot to accommodate a wedge shaped <br /> "profile" gasket is acceptable under Section 8, paragraph 8.5. <br /> 4.2.6 Gaskets shall be accordance with ASTM C 361, neoprene or other <br /> synthetic rubber. A wedge shaped "profile" gasket meeting the <br /> same criteria is also acceptable. <br /> 4.2.7 A four-inch (4") diameter outlet and flange shall be cast into the <br /> sixty-three point four degree (63.40), fifteen-inch (15") diameter <br /> elbow for connection to a four-inch (4") diameter steel pipe air <br /> vent. <br /> 4.3 STEEL PIPE <br /> 4.3.1 The four-inch (4") diameter outlet gate vent pipe shall be con- <br /> structed of four-inch (4") diameter, ASTM A 53, Grade B, <br /> galvanized pipe with threaded joints. <br /> 4.3.2 The three-inch (3") diameter gage pipe shall be constructed of <br /> three-inch (3") diameter, ASTM A 53, Grade B, galvanized pipe <br /> with threaded joints. <br /> 5 FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION <br /> 5.1 POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) PIPE <br /> 5.1.1 The drain and seep collection pipe shall be installed on uniform <br /> grades as shown on the Drawings. Care shall be taken to avoid <br /> hills and valleys in the pipeline profile. <br /> 5.1.2 The drain pipes shall be bedded in Type I filter material installed in <br /> accordance with Specification A - Earthwork. <br /> 5.1.3 A minimum thickness of twelve inches (12") of Type I filter <br /> material shall surround the drain pipe unless otherwise shown on <br /> the Drawings. <br /> 5.1.4 Upstream ends of the drain pipes shall be terminated with a <br /> threaded PVC cleanout plug.
