be marked on As-Built Drawings unless the location is visible and <br /> clearly evident. <br /> 5.1.5 The drain shall be installed with a minimum slope of three inches <br /> (3") in ten feet 001. <br /> 5.2 REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPE (RCP) <br /> 5.2.1 RCP outlet piping shall be installed on uniform grades as shown on <br /> the Drawings. Care shall be taken to avoid hills and valleys in the <br /> pipeline profile. <br /> 5.2.2 The pipe shall be installed on a reinforced concrete cradle as <br /> shown on the Drawings. The cradle shall be installed against <br /> undisturbed embankment fill, bedrock, or on a lean concrete fill <br /> placed to bring the foundation to grade. Concrete or other <br /> approved block shall be used to elevate the pipe above the lower <br /> cradle pour to assure complete encasement of the lower portion <br /> of the pipe as shown in the Drawings. The pipe bell may be used <br /> in lieu of a support block. The pipe shall be blocked in position to <br /> assure no lateral movement (rolling) occurs after pipe positioning, <br /> and prior to and during placement of the upper cradle section (See <br /> Specification B - Concrete, Section 8.4). The upper concrete <br /> cradle walls shall be battered. <br /> 5.2.3 The RCP outlet piping shall be field tested for leakage at the <br /> Contractor's expense prior to placement of backfill. The leakage <br /> test shall be conducted by filling the pipe with water and applying <br /> a minimum pressure of 10 psi at the highest point of the pipe for <br /> at least one hour. All visible leaks shall be repaired. <br /> 5.3 STEEL PIPE <br /> 5.3.1 All steel pipes shall be installed in accordance with AWWA C 200. <br /> 5.3.2 Steel pipe assemblies shall be fabricated in accordance with <br /> AW WA C 200. <br /> 5.3.3 Steel pipe and pipe assemblies shall be installed at the locations, <br /> slopes, and lines shown on the Drawings. <br /> SPECIFICATION C - PIPING <br /> PAGE 5 <br />
