6.5 TYPE I FILTER <br /> Type I Filter shall be used for construction of the sand filter diaphragm at the <br /> termination of the bypass conduit, underlying course of riprap bedding, and the <br /> well screen bedding at the discharge end of the new conduit. <br /> 6.5.1 Type I Filter shall consist of sand conforming to ASTM C-33 <br /> Specification for Concrete Sand. <br /> 6.5.2 Type I Filter shall be obtained from local suppliers of sand and gravel <br /> or from existing stockpiles on Cyprus Climax property. <br /> 6.5.3 Type 1 Filter shall conform to the following gradation limits. <br /> Sieve Size Percent Passing by Weight <br /> 3/8-inch 100 <br /> No. 4 95-100 <br /> No. 8 75-100 <br /> No. 16 50-85 <br /> No. 30 25-60 <br /> No. 50 10-30 <br /> No. 100 2-10 <br /> No. 200 0-4 <br /> 6.6 TYPE II FILTER <br /> Type 11 Filter shall be used for the top course of riprap bedding as shown on <br /> Section E-E, Sheet 2 of the Drawings. <br /> 6.6.1 Type II Filter shall consist of gravels (GW). <br /> 6.6.2 Type II Filter shall be obtained from approved local suppliers of sand <br /> and gravel or from existing stockpiles on Cyprus Climax property. <br /> 6.6.3 Type II Filter shall have a minimum size of No. 200 sieve.
