PAW-1 Alluvial well located in the Purgatoire Alluvium adjacent <br /> to PRS-1. Established to monitor water quality above the <br /> existing coal refuse pile. <br /> PAW-2 Alluvial well located adjacent to the Purgatoire River <br /> approximately 200 yards downstream of PAW-1. Established <br /> to monitor water quality down gradient from the existing <br /> coal refuse pile. <br /> PAW-3 Alluvial well located adjacent to the Purgatoire River <br /> approximately 300 yards downstream of PAW-2 . The well <br /> was established in the backfilled channel during the <br /> diversion of the Purgatoire River. It was established to <br /> monitor the quality and quantity of water movement into <br /> the upstream (east) end of the diversion. <br /> PAW-4 Alluvial well located adjacent to the Purgatoire River <br /> approximately 100 yards downstream of PAW-3 . The well <br /> was established in the backfilled channel during the <br /> diversion of the Purgatoire River. It was established to <br /> monitor the quality and quantity of water movement into <br /> the downstream (west) end of the diversion. <br /> PAW-5 Alluvial well located below PRS-2 at the Golden Eagle <br /> Mine entrance. Established to gather baseline data above <br /> the Golden Eagle Mine and monitor quantity and quality of <br /> water in the alluvium below the New Elk Mine. <br /> PAW-6 Alluvial well located adjacent to PRS-3 . Established to <br /> monitor mine discharge, existing coal refuse and other <br /> potential effects of mining below the Golden Eagle Mine. <br /> -5- <br />
