The 1980 and 1982 parameters of the native pastureland and alkali sagebrush
vegetation types were used to determine the reclamation standard. As
reported on Table 36, Cover and Production Values for the Revegetation
Success Standards at the Fish Creek Tipple, the averages of the two years
and two vegetation types would provide a value of 51.4% for cover and 24.2
grams per amt for production. These values represent the revegetation
success standards for reclamation at the Fish Creek Tipple. If it is deemed
necessary to apply a "t" test, the standard deviations of 6.321 for cover
and 1.981 for production will be utilized.
Revegetation success has been met when the calculated "t" is equal to or
less than the "t" value from the one -tail "t" distribution table.
The formula to be used is given on page 13 of "Draft: A Statistical
Evaluation on Coal Lands in the West ", L.L. Larson, OSM, Region V, February
26, 1980. The formula reads:
t
X
X
S 1 2
1
X - X
= calculated estimate of t value
= mean for reclamation success standard
= mean for revegetated area data
= variance of reclamation success standard
2.05 -50 Revised 11/09/88
