C) Other backfilling on site of process ponds and general grading is limited to 16,000 cy.
The total backfilling and grading quantity is therefore 48,000 cy.
3. Spread Topsoil
The two topsoil piles created when the initial mine was disturbed will be used in the reclamation
of the site. Since 21.13 acres will need to be covered with 6 inches, this is a quantity of 17,044 cy.
The topsoil piles are conveniently located on the site, allowing a short distance for the haul and
spreading. For this reason, the cost of this task is $1.00 per cy. Mulching will occur from the dead
tree mulching activity off the permit area, but this is an additional step that is not necessary,
therefore, it is not bonded for.
4. Revegetation
The 21.13 acres will be scarified after topsoil placement and weed spraying will also occur. The
seed mix shown in Exhibit E will be broadcast over the acreage and the mulch will be applied. A
cost of $811.35 per acre is used for this work, which is identical to that calculated by the Division
for the Alma Placer site a few miles to the north.
