The following narrative should be added to Exhibit L - RECLAMATION
COSTS
As described in Exhibit E, the worst case reclamation scenario is the condition as of October 2012
since the maximum disturbance has occurred (22.34 acres) and considerable backfilling and
grading is needed to attain the post -mine land use of high altitude rangeland and wildlife habitat.
For this scenario, all equipment and plants will be moved off site, gravel piles will be sold or
backfilled in pits, the area will be regraded to fill in the designated water exposures and highwalls.
The maximum slope for the reclaimed areas will be 4H:1 V.
Approximately 21.13 acres will require backfilling, grading, topsoil replacement and seeding.
Undisturbed Area = 2.66 acres
Roads to remain = 1.24 acres
Total permit = 25.0 acres
Worst Case Cost Descriptions:
1. Demolition
This is based on a small non portable gravel processing plant located on site as shown on Map C-
2. This plant is not operative but would need to be removed in case of mine closure. There are
some fuel tank liners and berms which would need to be removed after fuel tank removal. Also,
the truck scale is located in the ground and would need to be removed.
There is a $3000 credit (against the mob -demob costs) due to the accessible location of Alma
Colorado. This has been used as a deduction for a nearby permit. Total permit = 25.0 acres
2. Dozer work regrading the site
This task is based on the following:
A) Placer Pit: The pit will be limited to a maximum of 20,000 cy for backfilling.
B) The Infiltration Pond and highwall will be limited to a maximum of 12,000 cy backfilling. A
fill pile of approximately 8,000 cy is located immediately south of the highwall and will be used
to backfill the pond with an extremely short downhill dozer push. This pile is seen on Map C -2.
