None of these species are currently listed on the BLM Colorado Sensitive Species List found at
www.blm.gov /co /st/en/BLM Programs/botany /Sensitive Species List _.html.
The vegetative cover on CM -25 may be classified as scattered to sparse. Most Pinyon- Juniper
stands do not reach over twenty feet in height.
4.3 Existing Stormwater Structures
The portal is located near the head of a small drainage located below the access road for the site.
The access road is located uphill of the mining site and provides an excellent location for runoff
control structures to intercept offsite drainage and route runoff around the mining area.
Bordering the site are two small offsite basins that route runoff from upland areas ( Offsite Basin
10 and Offsite Basin 20) toward the mine. Offsite Basin 10 is generally intercepted by roadways
above the mine and directed to the north into a relatively large retention pond existing
immediately north of the mine site. This appears to be a non - discharging retention pond
designed previously to protect the existing Uravan tailings disposal site (immediately to the east)
from offsite run -on. Offsite Basin 20 borders the south side of the site and produces runoff
directed generally north toward the mine. This runoff is, for the most part, intercepted by the
existing mine access roadway running along the southern portion of the mine area. It generally
drains east along the roadway to a natural drainage channel existing near the southeast corner of
the site. This channel turns to the south and discharges into Hieroglyphic Canyon, the large
ephemeral drainage which flows east and enters the San Miguel River near Uravan.
5.0 Site Manager
The site manager for the CM -25 will be responsible for implementing BMPs at the site during
the operation of the mine, bi- annual stormwater inspections, maintenance of stormwater
inspection records, and oversight of reclamation efforts once mining activities are completed.
The Vice President of Mining for Cotter Corporation, Glen Williams, is responsible for
implementing and maintaining the SWMP for the CM -25 site. Below is Mr. Williams contact
information:
Mr. Glen Williams
Vice President of Mining, Western Slope Operation.
Cotter Corporation (N.S.L.)
P.O.
