place (see Task 3, Earth Work), or be it may be removed to the Mine 2 entry.
The Mine 2 entry consists of half round corrugated metal estimated to be nine (9) feet tall and
fifteen 0 5) feet wide. A single width concrete block wall seals the entry at seventy five (75)
feet within the entry. Rubble from demolition activities may be placed in the entry. Materials
placed within this entry shall be placed so that damage to the existing cinder block wall does
not occur. The half round corrugated metal shrouding at this location must be completely
filled from floor to ceiling and from the block wall to the entry. Void spaces shall be
minimized. If rubble is not sufficient to backfill the entry, backfilling will be completed under
Task 4, Earth Work.
Mine 2 Bathhouse Area
A portion of the Bathhouse back wall and foundation, conveyor foundations and a perimeter
wall will be demolished and removed to the current location of the bathhouse for disposal by
burial (see Task 4, Earth Work).
Mine 2 Fan
A fan foundation, motor building, substation and other structures and foundation materials
shall be demolished and disposed of at this location. The southern-most entry presents
hazardous conditions due to roof and hill slope instability at this location. Extreme care must
be taken when working in this area. All structures and foundations shall be demolished at this
location, except the concrete retaining wall outside the southern-most entry, which shall
remain intact. The rubbelized materials shall be placed within the entries, using the southern
entry for disposal first.
Materials placed within the Mine 2 fan entries shall be placed so that damage to the existing
cinder block walls does not occur. The half-round corrugated metal shrouding at this location
must be completely filled from floor to ceiling and from the block wall to the entry. Void
spaces shall be minimized. If rubble is not used to backfill the entry, the backfilling will be
accomplished under Task 4, Earth Work.
Coal Silo Area
Materials at this location include a concrete wall located at the top of the cut slope
immediately west of the Coal Silo Area, a building slab, wall remnants and other foundations
and rubble.
The demolished materials shall be placed against the Coal Silo cut (west side of the Coal Silo
Bench) at the location of the building slab.
Lower Bench Area
A large foundation at this location shall be demolished to three (3) feet below ground level,
and disposed of adjacent to the highwall in this location.
9
